Almost back to school!! Yea I hear you say! Peace, quiet, freedom! But we’ll miss them!

We all want our kids to be happy, healthy and the best that they can be. In order for that to happen they need our help! Our help to nourish them in a way that they will grow strong, healthy, smart, conscientious children with a healthy and balanced approach to food.

BREAKFAST is arguably the most important meal of the day. We are breaking the fast that we have had overnight. Research has shown that breakfast improves concentration in school and those who eat a good healthy breakfast are much less likely to snack on sweets, crisps and junk.

So…. What should we give them? What’s healthy? And more to the point, for us busy mums, what’s easy?

Ease off the sugar laden cereals…. the Frosties, Coco pops etc.

INSTEAD TRY ONE OF THESE HEALTHY OPTIONS:
A whole grain breakfast cereal
Porridge
A piece of fruit
Fruit salad
Bread/Toast/Bagel/Muffin/Crumpet with a little butter or spread
Beans, tomatoes on toast
Boiled, poached, scrambled eggs on toast.
A fruit/vegetable smoothie

If you’re anything like me you don’t have time for the homemade pancakes or artistic creations to entice your child to eat!!

All these are quick, simple and will set your child off to a great start in the morning!!
